Winter Lower Age Yorkshire Championships 2018

Updated: Oct 2, 2018

Huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the Yorkshire Champs this weekend - what a great start to the season. SSC swimmers Joseph Moment, Eric Hobkinson, Alex Beeson and Bess Naylor came away with more PBs today with Joseph earning himself an 8th placing in his 50 back and NER time and Bess an 11th place in her 100 breast. Alex swam more races than anyone this weekend - consistently good work Alex, well done! Eric swam a couple of terrific races, especially the 100 breast with a great finish - whoop whoop! Holly Draper narrowly missed getting a PB in her 100IM yesterday - next time Hol! Congratulations to 12 yr old Henry Cornforth who trains with SSC as well as his main club Whitby, for his medal haul today (2 golds & 1 bronze) with an amazing time of 59.86 in the 100 free ranking him the fastest in the UK for that event! Many of our fellow Scarborough and District swimmers did brilliantly with some great times and medals. Such strong results from our district to spur us all on and a really friendly, but very hot, atmosphere poolside this weekend - thanks to Sam, Niki and Hamish for their help. Every meet is a chance to shine and to keep learning and improving.
