Return to swimming update for current Club Members.

23/7/2020 - Thank you all for your patience and support of the club. An update but please note at this stage it is subject to constant review and change at very short notice. The return to swimming survey was well supported, indicating that the majority of swimmers are keen to be back to training but that they are willing to support the safety measures being put in place, especially in the changing rooms and the lane distancing etiquette. The survey also indicated that the majority would prefer Email updates so all “Return to Swimming Session invites” will only be sent by email and will not be posted on social media. The Club has been working closely with SBC and EA to implement a safe return to the pool and establish the new safety guidelines including: strict cleaning procedures , especially in the changing rooms , establishing session capacity and preparing for lower numbers in lanes in line with government guidance plus completion of numerous risk assessments . The club will not be returning to the pool on the 25th July , although we are working with SBC and EA to return as soon as it is safely and economically possible. Hopefully in the next few weeks. The club will then implement the recommended Phased Return. We currently have 149 registered Club swimmers to get safely back into the pool and appreciate your patience with this. Initially Morning Training session swimmers will be the first squads back. Swimmers will be “invite only” to allow us to ‘test the water’ and ensure that our risk assessed Safe Systems, that are now in place with EA , are effective, using the older and most experienced swimmers first. Attendance will be monitored throughout. The rest of the Competitive swimmers will then be steadily invited back, so that ideally by September, all our Category 2 registered competitive swimmers will have their individual allocated sessions. Unfortunately, as numbers are strictly limited, members will only be admitted to the facility when it is their allocated session. All sessions remain subject to change. Please ensure that you check the website news page and social media before setting off to training. The club may have to change arrangements at very short notice. The Category 1 teaching section and learn to swim , swimmers will look to return mid to late September and will receive their invites nearer the time. Before any swimmers can return to the pool there are a number of tasks that members are expected to complete – members will not be able to return to training unless all steps have been taken by the swimmer/parents/carers. Once your return to swimming session invite is received, please email your reply to confirm if you are accepting your place. If your not attending any of your offered sessions, they can then be offered to another swimmer. The Covid 19 Health survey (links attached.) Please can all current members read the Health survey , then sign and return the Covid-19 and Risk Awareness Declaration which can found on : https://www.swimming.org/swimengland/pool-return-supporting-resources/ Any updates to your membership including: the health survey, Updating personal details or Your individual allocated session enquires ... should be emailed to: members.scarboroughswimmingclub@gmail.com and not posted on social media ( Facebook) to comply with GDPR guidance. Over the next few weeks, Please regularly check your emails for your individual session invitation , read the return to swimming guidance on the Swim England website and on the Everyone Active sites and we hope to see you all soon.
